Polar Express

We went on Heber Valley Railroad's "Polar Express" Train earlier in December. The kids have wanted to do this since we moved here. We finally got tickets and went. The kids had a blast!

August and I had fun because the kids had fun. I was hoping for them to play our favorite songs from the soundtrack...but they didn't play any music. They had a silly DJ that didn't add to the ambiance. If he would have kept quiet we would have enjoyed ourselves much more.

You could almost feel the excitement in the air.

It was another great family experience that we won't forget.

They gave us cookies and hot chocolate (more like cold chocolate).

They read the story to us during the ride.

There wasn't a heater on the train, but it didn't feel too cold. We did keep our warm stuff on the entire time though.

Santa got on the train when we "arrived" at the North Pole. Caleb was trying really hard to believe that we made it to the North Pole. But, he couldn't get past the idea that he could see freeway lights in the distance.

Mrs. Claus also visited the train. Josh just hid from her.

It was so cold that it was hard to see out because ice formed on the window.

Holiday Lights

We were able to visit Temple Square this year and take in all of the lights. We went with my Mom and was SOOOOO glad that she came with us.

We took Trax to downtown. It makes parking easy and the boys LOVED the train ride.

The kids love Grandma Debbie and were happy that she came.

For some reason Josh thought that Trax was the "Polar Express".

We bundled up warm. Thank goodness...it was freezing.

Congrats to the Bride and Groom!

My brother Casey was married last Friday to his lovely bride Hayley! They are such a great pair. I am so glad to have her as a part of our family. I have always hoped that Casey would find a wife that would complement him. Hayley is the perfect fit...I would even go as far as to say that she is a female version of Casey.

Congratulations little Bro! I hope to get some pics of how beautiful Hayley looked (and of course of Casey too) soon. My camera died after this pic of my family at the wedding:

Little Indiana

I didn't get around to posting about Halloween, because I didn't have many pics. I was REALLY sick (for 10 days) with THE flu. Caleb went as Indiana Jones. He was really cute. Even cuter is the fact that after we would tuck him in bed he would sneak out and put on his hat. Every morning this is how I would find him.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year and spent it with family and friends. We had it at our house and I did all of the major fixins. And no, it wasn't even a disaster. I even think it turned out fantastic! I was hoping we wouldn't end up at McDonalds.

It was good to have August home all day.

We had my Grandparents (Pat and Don), Dad (Mike), Aunt Kerry and her Co-worker, cousin MaryAnn and friend Shawn over.

Nothing better then good company and good food to help in celebrating thanks!

Holiday Dress

During December I was able to snap some pics of the kids in their holiday church clothes. We weren't able to get one together because August was only home for 10 minutes and Bella was still asleep. So here are a few pics to remember Sundays in December:

I love these boys! I don't know what I would do without anyone of them.

Isabella is the apple of all of our eyes.

Sweet things...

Sunday, Sunday...Not a fun day

When I think back to Sunday's when we were first married all I remember is how enjoyable they were. They usually consisted of Church, nap, food, nap, movies and that is about it. Now days, things are different. I know I should look forward to them...after all they are suppose to be a day of rest, but they rarely seem to fit the bill. We have had afternoon church (1PM-3PM) this year and it is REALLY hard with a baby and 2 year old. The kids are exhausted without naps and come home cranky and tired.

August leaves every Sunday for his calling (a non-paid job with the LDS Church/volunteer) at 7:45AM. Between meetings and church he doesn't usually return home until 5 or 6 PM. Then, he does home teaching from 7-9 PM two Sunday's a month. I am tired just typing it. He doesn't complain a bit. The kids are really supportive of him being gone (I try to also) and realize that it is a sacrifice.

This is a pic taken after church (11/22/2009). They both were so tired .

I do have to admit that I enjoyed just holding them both.

This video is hilarious. It is the same day as the pictures above. Josh was sitting at the island eating dinner after church. He was too tired to finish. Don't worry, I caught him just in time!
I can't wait for the new year. Church will be at 9AM and we will have the afternoon free. I am sure this will bring a whole new set of problems (waking kids up, getting everyone out the door dressed, hair done, clean on time). But, I am still looking forward to maybe having an hour or two to do NOTHING in the afternoon except breath!

Playing Mr. Mom

One day Josh came out of his room and shut the door. I was busy switching laundry, banging away. He got really close and said, "Shhhh! My baby is asleep!". I just kind of laughed and figured he was just playing pretend with his animals. A few minutes later he said, "Oh No! My baby is awake!" He ran into his room and came out with this: His blue truck wrapped in a fabric scrap. He proceeded to tell me that the baby was hungry and he needed to find a bottle. Away he went.

He spent the remainder of the afternoon (including going to Walmart) carrying his "baby". He would give it a binki and pretend to feed it. He even told me it was stinky and needed a diaper change.

I laughed and laughed! Maybe this is how boys play house. No babies to love. Just trucks.

Playing on the stairs

It's getting harder to keep Bella off of the stairs. I now worry about leaving her alone for fear of what she may do, where she may go or what she will destroy. How quickly things change.

While putting up decorations, Bella was into everything. Here is a clip of just how mobile she is.
